My name is Marina and I am La petite nina. My grandmother used to call me that, I suppose cause I am rather short. I am Swedish but living in Brussels since 2005, when I moved here to study contemporary dance at P.A.R.T.S. Something about this town made me feel like home. It’s place that carries a lot of history and poetry. Nothing is perfect, but everything is unique and perhaps that’s what I like about it..
In 2011 I opened my Etsy-shop, where I have since then sold handmade women’s clothing. Due to being short, I have found it difficult to find clothes that suit my body and that’s what it’s all about. I wanted to create a collection of women’s wear made from natural fabrics and it was important to me that the production was small and handmade by me. My focus has always been quality and simplicity. I want my designs to last for a long time and become those pieces that you can always rely on in your wardrobe. Because of my concern for the plastic pollution, I make sure that all garments are shipped to the customer without any plastic packaging.
La petite nina is also a platform where I can share news and inspiration. Every new piece of clothing that I create, will first appear on the blog. There you can find inspiration for your wardrobe. I have a slow lifestyle, and I value spending my time in the nature with family and friends. Having a background as a dancer, health, exercise and nutrition is a big part of my daily habits. In my blog I share stories from everyday life. Much of it happens in Brussels or my in hometown Luleå.
